What is Refuel and what are summer meals programs? Refuel is a local Summer meals program that is designed to provide healthy meals during the time school is out for the summer to kids and teens . Refuel is operated by people right here in your community and is based out of Faith Chapel in Cole Camp Missouri. Volunteers from the community come together to help prepare and serve meals in parks, schools, camps and anywhere kids gather. Part of the funding for the Refuel program comes from subsidies provided by the USDA and with donations from partner organizations of food and funding. Currently Refuel operates from two central kitchens, one located in Sedalia at the FEMA kitchen at the Jr. High school and the other at Faith Chapel's kitchen in Cole Camp. Summer foods is overseen by Department of Health and Senior Services and is monitored by the local Health Department.
What are the requirements for my child or teen to receive a meal? Do I have to fill out an application form? There is no application necessary to receive a meal and you do not have to show proof of income. Kids and teens can just show up at a Refuel summer meal site during the site's hours of operation and eat.
Is there a cost? No. All Refuel summer meals are offered FREE to kids and teens.
